Activities & Projects

Lions is a community service organisation and people join Lions because they want to use their intellect, creativity, commitment and enthusiasm to get things done.  Like what you see?  Get involved!

The Club has allocated funds towards the sponsorship of local youths so that they can attend the Outward Bound camp in northern New South Wales; go to a leadership conference in the USA; and travel to North America and Europe as part of the Lions Youth Exchange Program.

One major project was the upgrade of Lions Park in Long Road, North Tamborine.

Two shade shelters and electric bar-b-q have been built.  Finance for the project came from the Queensland Government and local fundraising activities.

Working bees are held to maintain the structures.

Raising funds is a never-ending task, but it is one that the Lions and Leo members embrace with enthusiasm and good humour.  Work at the monthly Mt Tamborine Markets and selling raffle tickets is augmented with the sausage sizzles at Bunings, Oxenford.

The Lions Club of Tamborine Mountain Inc contributed money to the Queensland Premier's Disaster Fund for flood and cyclone victims and to Lions Foundation for the survivors of the earth quakes in New Zealand and Japan.

Collections of linen and small electrical items and furniture went to those affected by the 2011 Queensland floods.
